About us

After many years in the education sector, we found that attendance recording was cumbersome and resource-intensive with the traditional systems in place. Both teachers and school management expressed a desire for a better and more timely system that met everyone's needs.

And so the idea of NOA was born.

The task of registering attendance and absence in school is perceived by many as a time thief that steals valuable time from teaching and administration. Students find it difficult to gain access to and an overview of their own absence statistics.

We have used these experiences to create NOA, a digital and innovative system for registering attendance, which simplifies everyday life and meets the requirements imposed on employees in the education sector. A system where attendance registration is quick and easy for students, lecturers and administration.

NOA has been developed in close collaboration with our pilot customers Sonans Privatgymnas, University of Agder and Volda University College. We have developed functionality that has been particularly in demand in the university and college sector, with a high degree of flexibility for each study site. 

NOA consists of an app and a web version. The app is free and used by students. The web version is license-based and used by lecturers and administration.

Key info about NOA:

• The idea of digital attendance registration was put into practice in 2017, and was developed with Sonans Privatgymnas as the first customer and pilot, with private schools all over Norway.

• NOA AS was established in 2018 by the General Manager, Hege Longva and Tatsiana Komissarova.

• NOA AS received NOK. 500.000 in commercialization support from Innovation Norway in 2018.

• In 2021 we welcomed 2 new partners; Julie Haakenstad and Silje Urke Antonsen.

• In the fall of 2021, approximately 60,000 students and staff used one or more of NOA's 3 modules for attending classes, attending the first day of study and infection tracking.

• In the fall of 2022, we got 4 new investors and partners; Kenneth Grande, Atle Birger Flø, Eirik Lund and Roger Gjerde.

• The Board of Directors of NOA consists of 7 people with interdisciplinary expertise in education, technology, digitalization, startups and marketing.

• In the fall of 2023, we launched NOA Evolve for companies that need an overview of their employees' continuing education, such as auditors and accountants.
